Light therapy for children with autism?
I've never heard of this.... anyone have any info? Tried it? Heard of it?DS's special ed teacher was telling me today that she had another student years ago who Owen reminded her of. She said that boy also had a really rough time in Nov Dec Jan Feb every year, just like Owen. She said that his mom started " light therapy" that's what she called it, don't know if there's another term with the boy during those months and it really helped him. I found that interesting so I'm looking for more info.

I see all this about the MMR vaccine and autism and I think it is a pretty simple question to ask. If a lot of people have autism and they did not get the vaccine, it seems there is something else going on. Do you have autism or does your child have autism and you did not get the vaccine?I'm not really arguing for or against here. I know what the research says and I also know what a lot of people believe. What I AM interested in is the simple idea that if there are a lot of people out there with autism that did not get vaccinated, that it actually changes the debate. That's why I'm asking the question this way.

Ok my brother is 15 years old and my mom was giving him medicine that made him aggresive which we just figured out.One night my brother got beyond aggresive and started hitting and scratching.My brother is 230 pounds and by hitting my mom thing got out of control and my mom called 911 so they can help but instead of helping the cops barged into my house took my 15 year old brother with autism slammed him everywhere gave him a big bruce on the forehead that could have caused a concosion forced him put tight handcuffs on him and rushed him to the hospital .Can i sew for them treating a 15 year old boy with autism so violently also when they came to my house knowing he had autism my mom said since he had calmed down and he was kinda scared because 20 cops appeared at my house she said to leave hima lone and leave and they say " no if you dont want us to do this you should have not called 911" my mom is tramatized because she saids they treated my brother unfairly and like a total criminal knowing he was disabled help me

I found out my son was autistic a couple of days ago hes 2 and a half and rencentlly ive found things really hard to deal with. 1.getting my head around the diagnosis 2. hes been randomly screaming VERY loud at home and in public places? i find this VERY stressed full and he doesn't understand when i say no.does any1 know where i can get help around west sussex? or any autistic forums that are easy to use?

I read a article that links stress to autism. Stress between weeks 24 and 28.I am a very anxious person and now during pregancy its gone haywire.I blow up things out of proportion,have irrational thoughts that never leave my brain for days and make me feel down and give me headaches.Unfortunately all this is happening more in the weeks 22 onward for me and I am soooo worried.Please give me your experiences.

Does anyone know a child with autism who was never vaccinated?
I have been curious if anyone ever asked this question. My nephew has autism and even though the vaccination study was discredited I still see plenty of people who are scared to vaccinate. I was thinking and realized that the easiest way to figure out what to do would be to find incidences of children with autism that were never vaccinated. If a child or children like this exists than it surely can be argued that autism must be caused by other factors genetics for example .Obviously it is harder to find that kind of thing since most children in the U.S. tend to be vaccinated. But anyway if you know of anyone, please let me know.Thanks There have been many studies that show that smoking causes lung cancer while there have not been any credible studies that show that vaccines cause autism. So that is not a good example. I'm not saying that it couldn't cause it but there is no credible evidence as of yet that proves it does or even suggests in a credible way that it could. So going around telling parents they inadvertently caused their kids autism by getting him her vaccinated is cruel particularly when you really don't know if it did or not.Also you would have to go by percentage of the population and not total numbers since there are far more vaccinated children then unvaccinated. I do not understand why that kind of study has not occurred. That would be one of the first things I would want to know. Particularly from as large of a group of people as possible as well. Also, just because a place in chicago doesn't have any autistic children doesn't prove anything. Yes it is unusual but is not enough evidence. Since we don't know what causes autism we don't know what is different about the children in that area. there could be other factors at play. a truly scientific study would take into consideration many things and should include people from different parts of the country or even other countries.the guy in the article even states " Eisenstein stresses his observations are not scientific. " The trouble is this is just anecdotal in a sense, because what if every autistic child goes somewhere else and their family never calls us or they moved out of state?" "

Any one see a change in child with Autism, autism spectrum disorder, apraxia, ect. With using Choline?
My son is 27 months and not talking. He is very hyper, and has many sensory issues. His diet is poor because of these issues. He had an Evaluation last week and is very delayed in his speech. The more reading I do about Autism, and Apraxia, Sensory issues I see a link between either fish oils, Choline and Vitamin B 12. Has anyone tried these with a child with developmental delays? Speech Delays? ADHD? Did anyone notice a difference in behavior? And what did you try? I have read forums where people switched a vitamin with a Flintstones one with choline and in a child with autism they saw a change almost immediately.

Car seat help for a child with autism?
Our son has turned into an escape artist, is there anything you can get to go on the chest straps that hold them together, or any car seats that are inescapable, can't take him out in the car on my own now as he keeps getting out of his seat.He is 4 in November, we have a Britax seat with harness which he takes his arms out of no matter how tight we pull it and we have a high backed booster to use with a normal seat belt but he tucks it under his arm.He's non verbal.
