What are the REAL causes of autism? ?
A doctor said autism is caused by letting little babies dream and wander in their own world. Therefore they will live in a dream world and this is the real cause of autism. For me, dreaming given as a cause of autism seems to be unscientific. No matter where I try to find more information on this, there is no trace of such an explanation. I have read about the other causes of autism as well. For instance, Wikipedia enumerates some seemingly ridiculous ones like too much folic acid, the lack of vitamin D, rain or parental coldness....are these real causes or do they have no scientific basis at all? My son's doctor said when I see that my baby's eyes are half open, he is dreaming and I should wake him up so that I could prevent autism. Does this really help? Honestly, it sounds kinda odd to me especially because all this comes from a doctor and it sounds so unscientific...The weirdest part of this is that my doctor told me not to believe shots can cause autism...it is because babies daydream all the time if you let them do so. I personally believe children are born with autism which can only be diagnosed later but it is already there when they are born. I personally do not want to disturb my child when he sleeps just because he dreams...everybody dreams anyway.
What do you think are the causes of autism?
i've heard that vaccines or ultrasounds while baby is in utero can cause autism. i'm not pregnant, but if i ever do become pregnant, i don't want to get ultrasounds just in case. is it possible to go through a pregnancy without getting an ultrasound? what are your thoughts on the causes of autism?
Can anyone give me a good website on causes of autism related to vaccines?
I'm a mom to be. I've tried not to get caught up in all the hype surrounding autism and vaccines but now that I'm a mom and have talked to some friends whom have kids with autism, I'd like to know some more information. Does anyone know of any websites that give the facts about why people think autism is caused by the vaccines and or too many vaccines at once. I believe in having my child vaccinated, but am just looking in to autism as well.

Research on the cause of autism?
Hi, I'm looking for any research that has been made on the cause s on autism or Asperger's syndrome. I've been searching for evidence that shows autism and Asperger's aren't caused by bad early life experiences. I keep hitting brick walls of people who claim that " research proved that autism isn't caused by bad parenting" without citing any sources for the " well known" research. Where is that research? I want to see it with my own eyes. Hear say isn't worth anything to me.Seriously, I've been looking forever and I can't find any hard evidence that proves autism is indeed genetic. In fact, in the documentary " Refrigerator Mothers" which aims to dismiss the " myth" that autism might be caused by environmental factors, I couldn't help but notice some incongruencies in the parent's reports and also noticed some of the mothers had divorced the father shortly after their child's birth. I'm not saying autism is caused by parenting. I'm trying to find evidence that it isn't but I just can't find any, no matter how hard I try. I'm tired of terrible arguments like this one " Bad parenting does not cause Asperger s syndrome. If bad parenting, how to explain families which include both Aspies and neurotypical siblings? If bad parenting causes Asperger s syndrome, why would one child be affected but not the other?" The way parents interact with their children can easily change radically due to many things. There's a good example and explanation of this simple concept in the book by Bruce D. Perry " The boy who was raised as a dog" .There is strong evidence that personality disorders and schizophrenia work in the same way that comlpex post traumatic stress disorder does. I have yet to find any hard evidence whatsoever that contradicts this theory, only evidence that supports it. If you're the parent of an autistic child and want to voice your opinion go for it. I'm looking for information on the way you handled you're child needs from birth to roughly 2 years. I don't want any hear say answers other than links to researches on this or something similar.Thank you,Gee.Typo " the way you handled you're child" should read " the way you handled your child" Also, before I get flamed for " parent bashing" or something along those lines, I'd just like to remind you that I don't blame the parents in any way, I'm simply trying to find valid information on this. My mind is open to any kind of valid evidence. I just wish there was some.Typo " comlpex post traumatic stress disorder" should read " complex post traumatic stress disorder" ok, that's not true. I have a large understanding of all personality disorders. There's a great book on this subject detailing a large quantity of causes and effects related to personality disorders. The problem is that it's only available in French, but I've been trying to convince the author to have it translated to English.
What is the cause of autism?
I am writing a paper and I need to know if there a known and definite cause for autism? Please don't say vaccinations, I have read about this and understand that viewpoint but there is not enough scientific evidence for me to argue that side.I could use some help writing a thesis. My body paragraphs are going to be defining it, showing the recent increase in cases and causes for it, the challenges of families with autistic children, effects on the person, explaining the vaccine argument, and current scientific efforts. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
