Am I autistic or is it something else?
I have a lot of difficulty speaking to others so I decided to turn to Google. I read an article on autism and found that I have quite a few of the symptoms. But I read some other articles on autism and they had a lot of different symptoms listed. I heard of autism before, but I do not personally know anyone with it, so I have no idea exactly how they are different than normal. Just so you know I do not have trouble learning, I make straight A's and I am taking advanced courses. I just can not talk or keep a conversation with a person. Here is a list that one of the sites had. I put an X by the ones that I have.x1 person tends to keep to themselves x2 has trouble communicating x3 doesn't understand body language x4 has difficulty understanding other people's feelings 5 everything has to be " just so" x6 stick very rigidly to a daily schedule. x7 tends to look like they're not listening, even when they are 8 very repetitive motions x9 limited or no speech x10 is very logical about everything 11 finds it hard to adjust to change x12 does things like stacking cans, or putting coins into neat piles 13 doesn't like physical contact x14 tends to drift into their own world a lot, and not hear when thy are being spoken to I drift into my own world a lot, but I still hear people when they talk to me 15 speech impedimentPlease help me, and I just ask that you do not put stupid answers. I am just trying to find out what is wrong with me.

Is it okay for someone to beat you up just because they are autistic?
Okay so my autistic brother likes beating the shit outta me, threatening me and he has even stabbed me before. My mum says that it is " okay" because he is autistic and obviously I must have done something and it is my fault when all I am doing is sitting in my room on my computer or reading or getting ready for the gym.I don't know what to do, I can't deal with this anymore... I have a feeling one day he is gonna succeed...?

Help: Me and my family members don't know what's wrong with my autistic cousin?
My 21 year autistic cousin has a mysterious condition where he will get this pain in his head. He will scream as if some type of pain is overwhelming his head or his brain. He has been this way ever since he has had a haircut and the back of his head got kinda effected This was months ago . His mother gave him treatment for it and the bumpy area went down. But, I don't think the infection is whats causing the pain.Since my cousin can't tell us what's wrong with him, he can only say " Hurts" and he will scream really loud that you can hear him outside the house. I've been saying that he needs a brain scan because there is no telling what could be wrong with him. My aunt seems to not be taking this seriously. She has taken him to doctors and doctors have said that it might not be anything serious and they are giving my cousin meds to " calm" him.My cousin has been like this for about a year Plus, the pain seems so bad that he is causing damage to himself. He is digging holes into his skin and scalp. He can't tell us anything that is going on with his body. All he can tell us is that he hurts and he is tired. 2 days ago, me and my mother noticed one of his eyes looked smaller than the other. Not to long ago, about an hour ago, I noticed what was making his left eye look small. It's a knot in the middle of his forehead. I don't remember seeing him hitting himself there. Please, does anyone know what's going on?

Why do autistic people have such sensitive hearing?
At my school there are a lot of kids with aspergers because my school is for disabled and advanced students I'm advanced if we have a fire alarm, or there's a loud noise, they all double over in pain and cover their ears, shaking even crying and some run out of the roomIs that an autism thing? If so why?

Could someone be autistic all their life and never knows it and no one finds out?

Am I possibly autistic?
I hate being around people i cant have a normal conversation. i like collecting cards. i am a 16 year old girl. i used to walk on my tippy toes. i used to play by line up my toys in a row. people have always told me i am weird

Has anyone ever perceived that they were autistic without a medical proffesionals diagnosis?
I dont like the terms of certain words so Im just going to get my point across, whether u think im crazy or not doesnt matter ill just skip you if you do, im looking for relativity in responses and support, argue I will later. For now answers is enough, or any leads... I have a long list of reasons that I don't think will fit here just looking for others who have may have felt that way and hoping to speak more with you about it. Im 23 now but have always had difficulties between my personality and this society. Its bin aslow build up but i think i have enough information and knowledge to come to the conclusion that I ve had autism my whole life. If anyone is out there, who is like myself or suspects the same I would hope to exchange email addresses so we can help each other understand ourselves better.ThankSincerely your friend

I think i am becoming more autistic?
I don't like this. I feel my life is already very restricted by my Asperger's syndrome and I don't want to be any more disabled. For the purposes of understanding my functionality level. I am predominantly mainstream therefor really quite mild and have had no major meltdowns recently although I have had to miss classes . Anyone with ASD will know that " buzzy" feeling you get before a sensory overload to anyone who doesn't know it, it is similar to a mild panic combined with a twitchiness and impaired communicative abilities . With increasing frequency I have been experiencing this when I am not in a overstimulating environment. It has just occurred, as I am writing this, that this may be due to a big change I am going to experience. I am changing schools. If this is the case, how do I minimalise the stress? Also, over the last couple of years, I have experienced a gradual worsening in all symptoms, similar to a plateau or regression that you might see in a young child with ASD except I am far too old and the regression isn't severe enough . My language abnormalities are moving from stereotypical Asperger's very large vocabulary, insistence on specificity and mindless ranting to mild autistic disorder I have lost my large vocabulary and am having more and more trouble processing other people's language. I have noticed I usually give single word answers in situations where, in the past, I would go into needless and sometimes unrelated detail . What is happening and how do I stop it. How is this even possible? I have found no sources stating that regression can occur in older individuals I have heard it can occur but nothing traceable . Thank you.

I just self-diagnosed as an autistic adult (scores were high for Asperger's). What do i do now?
