How to deal with autism behaviors?
My 13 yr old ADHD and autistic son exhibits behaviors which tend to be very disrespectful, sometimes violent, arrogant and self gratifying. I've tried various tactics including embarrassing him, ignoring, asking questions, and time out with little results. These had worked in the past, but he only exhibits these traits in the home setting not in school. I'm a single mom trying to protect a younger child who is much smaller than his older brother. My son's service coordinator only wants to send me to conferences and doesn't take me seriously since my son behaves almost normal for a teenager. I hope you can help he definitely has a lack of respect for any authority figure and I'm afraid he may become unmanageable.
